On Location: Silverstein Locations – Looking for Luxury
Silverstein Locations was born in 2017 when founder, Ian Silverstein, began to notice how much he enjoyed working with the productions that used his house for shoots. The company represents a select number of luxury and unique locations across the South East and beyond, working with commercial and broadcast clients such as the BBC, Apple TV and Twitter.
After joining our Filming in England Partnership, we sat down with Account Manager, Sarah Tiplady, to discuss how Silverstein Locations are helping bring unique locations to the big screen.
What are the types of locations Silverstein specialise in?
We’re expanding but it’s mainly high-end luxury location, modern mansions and beautifully crafted buildings which are the locations we specialise in, but we’re looking to add more unique commercial locations whether that be airports and race tracks for example.
What are some of the advantages for productions using Silverstein Locations?
There are a number of agencies in the UK, but one thing about us is that we have so much energy to go above and beyond, if a production can’t find something, then we’ll find it. We’re very good negotiators with sensitive topics between productions and location owners such as fees, Silverstein is very good at building relationships, and doing good business is at the core of this practice.
How do you work with locations owners?
We’re 100% transparent with them and we manage all the go-betweens with the production, making sure the location owners don’t have to worry about any of the annoying and complicated processes.
What are some hidden gems that you would like to spotlight?
A diverse space, offering 444 acres which including an airfield, a test track and beautiful scenic backdrops. There’s also 45,000 ft of air hangar space. In total, the airfield is approx. 350 acres and offers well-drained flat grass, perfect for parking or for large productions.

The manor house is beautifully surrounded by large areas of parkland and tall mature trees which look out onto farmland.
