Doctor Who Christmas Special – Christmas Day
Premiering on Christmas Day, this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special is called ‘Joy to the World’ and stars Ncuti Gatwa as the iconic Doctor.

Paddington in Peru
Our favourite bear is back in cinemas. The Filming in England team are proud to have supported Paddington in Peru, which filmed scenes at Sky Studios Elstree and on location in Hertfordshire – as well as in Peru itself, of course!

Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light
Starring Damian Lewis, Harriet Walter and Kate Phillips, The Mirror and the Light is inspired by Hilary Mantel’s final novel in her Wolf Hall series. Set in Tudor England, it filmed in locations across the South West, including South Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire – alongside being based at The Bottle Yard Studios.

Parminder Nagra’s iconic DI Ray returned for season 2 of the ITV series in October. This filmed in some fantastic urban locations across Birmingham and wider West Midlands, find out where it here.

Rivals

Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special
Get out your dancing shoes, the Strictly Christmas Special will be gracing our screens on Christmas day, filmed at the brilliant Elstree Studios.
Airing at 3.55pm on BBC One on Christmas Day.
The Batman (2022)
Just in case you’re not feeling christmassy at all, DC have got you covered. Matt Reeves’s take on Batman starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz and Paul Dano is streaming on Netflix. Multiple scenes from this edition of the franchise were filmed in Liverpool city centre, which doubled as Gotham.
